Those new rooms are excellent and still the lowest price point among the casino hotels. We've been to all of the casino hotels to ski heavenly and these new sunset branded rooms are as good as harveys! Only downside is that it's a little far compared to Harrah's and harveys but offers a fresher room for way cheaper. Make sure to stay in a sunset room!
We checked in on October 16, 2025. We were on 11th floor, lake side. We had a great experience! Excellent front desk staff, phone personnel (Kimberly) and room service attendant. Elevators are the best! Fast and reliable but with loud beeping lol. Hotel coffee shop staff in the lobby are very friendly and accommodating. In the coffee shop, I met one of the hotel front desk staffs (I guess). She's a white elder lady (forgot her name). She was very nice and sweet. Even though she was on break or just getting her cup of coffee, she still showed excellent customer service... She took note of my concern and took care of the issues. I had a good time betting at the table games. Very friendly people, especially Stephanie, the cocktail waitress, is very nice. So funny and a smoke show! Get all your drinks from her yall!
I had a great 3 night stay at the Golden Nugget. We had a beautiful room on the 15th floor with a phenomenal lake view. The room was clean and modern. Check in was smooth. We did have to pay for parking but there was no other ‘resort fee’ like a lot of the casinos have. I’m surprised reviews are not better - I’d stay there again for a ski trip.
The "new" rooms dont look new to me they r small and the bathroom is really small too. The view from the room is amazing. The beds r comfortable but i do think they should put more atention to detail the bed covers had holes on them.... The casino is ok the steak house is really good.
Vanessa at the VIP desk was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay great. Check-in was smooth, and her customer service really stood out. She was friendly, professional, and attentive, and made us feel taken care of from the moment we arrived. Thank you, Vanessa, for such a positive experience!
Just had a WONDERFUL stay in a WONDERFUL room with the best view Only got to stay for one night but wish so bad it could have been for longer. The lady at the front desk was named Star, she was SO extremely helpful and patient and accommodating and knowledgeable regarding the property and where to find everything. Star made checking in an absolute Breeze. Bell hops were very accommodating. Can't wait to return- Thank you again to Star!
Location is great right on 50. Lots of parking for guests. Rooms have enough space for 4 adults to be comfortable and not crowded. Bathroom is big, 2 sinks, lots of counter space with open shelving below and on 1 wall, and there's an articulated makeup mirror on the other wall which is handy. Service personnel are friendly, pleasant and helpful in all things. Nice covered area at entrance for loading and unloading, plenty of luggage carts.
